This Cookie Policy explains how COINPAYMENTS Inc., a Cayman Islands exempted company (“COINPAYMENTS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), uses cookies and other tracking technologies when you interact with www.coinpayments.net (the “Site”). It should be read together with the “Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies” section of our Privacy Policy, which this Cookie Policy incorporates by reference and does not duplicate.
1. What are cookies and other tracking technologies?
As set out in our Privacy Policy, we and our service providers use various technologies to collect information when you interact with the Site, including cookies and similar technologies such as localstorage, session storage, and software development kits (SDKs). We do not currently use web beacons or browser or device fingerprinting.
Cookies are small data files that are stored on your device when you visit the Site. They enable us to collect information about your device, IP address, the web browser used to access the Site, pages or features viewed, time spent on pages, mobile app performance, and links clicked.
Web beacons are graphic images placed on the Site or in an email that are used to monitor the behavior of the user visiting the Site or receiving the email. We do not currently use web beacons.
Localstorage and session storage are treated the same as cookies for the purposes described in this Policy. We do not currently use browser or device fingerprinting.

The table below reflects the categories currently used on the Site. Categories marked as not used are not currently present.
3. Why we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep the Site secure and functioning correctly
- Remember your preferences and login state
- Understand and improve Site performance and user experience
- Provide customer support and preserve conversations
- Operate and manage the newsletter subscription form
- Where legally required, support fraud prevention and compliance obligations relevant to a payments business
4. Third-party cookies
Some cookies and similar technologies are placed by third parties on our behalf, such as our analytics provider (PostHog), web intent provider (Clay), customer support provider (Intercom), newsletter provider (HubSpot), and security provider (Cloudflare). These third parties are described in Appendix A. We do not use advertising networks, and we do not share data for advertising purposes. Please review the relevant third party’s own privacy and cookie policies for details. A current list of third-party providers used on the Site is available in Appendix A.
5. Your rights and choices
Consent banner. On arrival at the Site, you will be shown a cookie banner that lets you accept all, reject all (non-essential), or customize your choices by category, letting you opt in or out before non-essential cookies are set.
You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may affect Site functionality. Guidance is available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.
6. How long do cookies last?
- Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period (specified per cookie in Appendix A) or until you delete them.
- Per-service retention periods for our analytics and support providers are listed in Appendix A.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. We will post the updated version here with a revised “Last updated” date, and where required by law, we will seek your renewed consent.

Appendix A: Cookies and technologies in use
Note on PostHog: PostHog does not use analytics cookies on our Site. Pseudonymous identifiers are stored in localStorage on the public website and in session Storage in the checkout. Under GDPR/ePrivacy and similar laws, local and session storage used for tracking is treated the same as a cookie for consent purposes, so it still needs to be gated behind opt-in consent and blocked from firing until the user consents to the Analytics category.
